I hope that all of the fathers and surrogate fathers had a Happy Father’s Day. I’ve 3 beautiful children ages 16, 7 and 5 that I love very much. There are few things that are more important to me than being a good father. I take that job very seriously and believe it’s a privilege.
I feel that if God hadn’t blessed me with children, I would’ve wondered what my purpose was on earth. I feel that I was born to be a father. Fatherhood comes very natural to me. Life is short and very precious and nothing is more important than the time spent with your loved ones.
My oldest son, Gianni, just graduated from high school and has his first academic degree. I’m proud and happy for him.
Fatherhood isn’t an easy job. Nevertheless, it should be a job you should do your best at. Any fool can have a child, but it takes a man to be a father. This isn’t a joke, nor is it playtime with your children’s lives.
Men need to step up to the plate and being a black man myself, I challenge the black men reading this article to be more involved in your children’s lives. If you’re driving a nice car and living in a nice home and you aren’t taking care of all of your children, it’s just wrong.
For those fathers who are out there doing a great job, I commend you and wish you further success. I want to encourage you because your children are watching you. You may even have some nephews watching you as I watched my uncle. The positive fruits of your labor will be sweet.
Remember to keep the faith, trust in God only and seek after a pure heart. God will be pleased.
