Rev. Anthony (Tony) Patrick will host the Fifth Annual Open Door Ministry Celebration Saturday, September 26, at Central United Methodist Church, across from the Capitol in Downtown Lansing. An evening of food, fun and fellowship gets underway at 5 p.m. and will run till 8. The Celebrations raise supplemental funds for the Ministry’s work, with increasing and critical needs to meet due to current economic distress.
A native of Ann Arbor and board member of the Open Door Ministry, Rev. Patrick received a B.S. degree in Sociology and Social Work from Eastern Michigan and attended McCormick Theological Seminary. Ordained in 1988, he served at Trinity Presbyterian in Saginaw, Trinity Community Presbyterian in Detroit and since 1999 has been Associate pastor of First Presbyterian in Lansing.
This year’s Celebration will feature a presentation documenting the history of the Open Door Ministry, a wide variety of live and lively music by The Clarksons Band, an eclectic ethnic dinner prepared by a team of specialist chefs from Open Door and an auction of a number of unique items for which advance bids may be placed by visiting the church library.

Ample parking is available on adjacent streets, in lots north and west of the church, in the state ramp diagonally behind the building and the city ramp on Capitol Avenue. Childcare is available.
