LANSING, MI – Improving Michigan’s economy will be examined through the lens of addressing disparity on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 1-6 p.m. at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing. “Michigan: Our Youth, Our Future!” is one of three national town hall events sponsored by Community Voices of Morehouse School of Medicine. The event is being hosted locally by theIngham Change Initiative to engage young men of color, policymakers, the public, and media in a facilitated dialogue meant to highlight proven strategies and emerging best practices and encourage new partnerships to promote healthy outcomes for youth. Registration is open and free to the public.
Coordinated by Community Coalition for Youth and One Love Global, “Michigan: Our Youth, Our Future!” will consist of facilitated panelists and discussants on innovative approaches to eliminating inequity. Dr. Henrie Treadwell of Community Voices will bring the welcome address and Tavis Smiley, talk show host, author, and political commentator, will provide the keynote address. Paul Elam of Public Policy Associates will serve as moderator.
