On Saturday December 8, 2012 at 11:45 am, Lansing Police Department officers responded to the area of Crego Park/Landing (Aurelius and Mt Hope). A witness reported that they observed a body floating in the Red Cedar River. Upon arrival officers discovered a deceased female body near the shore of the river. Representatives from the Capital Area Dive Team, recovered the body late that afternoon, LPD Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene.
The body has since been turned over to the Ingham Medical Examiner for forensic testing. The deceased , 22 year old Schnee Hyon Sin. She is from Swartz Creek, MI.
The LPD Investigations Division is investigating this death as a homicide.
