Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope is seeking qualified individuals to work on upcoming 2014 Election Days on May 6th, August 5th, and November 4th. This is a great opportunity to perform a needed service and earn $120 or more per Election Day. The deadline to submit an application to work all three dates is Monday, March 31.
Workers are paid $120.00 for a full day plus $15.00 for attending a mandatory class. Half-day option is also available where workers can earn $60. A full day is from 6 a.m. until all work is completed (usually 9 or 10 p.m.); a half-day is either from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. or from 1 p.m. until all work is completed. If you work all three elections and attend required training, you could earn a minimum of $375 for this year!
Election workers assist voters in exercising their right to vote, and protect the integrity of the elections at polling locations across the city. Applicants must be a registered voter in Michigan or a 16 to 17 year old resident of Michigan. They must be able to understand and follow instructions and write legibly. Computer experience is preferred.
