Summer Schriner is the owner of Grace, a women’s clothing, shoe and accessory boutique in Old Town. Grace opened in February of this year to a warm welcome from the Lansing community. The focus of the store is on classic pieces that will never go out of style and will always have a flair.
Summer also sits on the Executive Board of the Old Town Commercial Association where she works with her sister, the Executive Director, to make Old Town a better place. Prior to opening Grace, Summer was a Research Attorney with the 56th Circuit Court. Summer continues to practice law as an associate at Melvin S. McWilliams PC, handling primarily estate planning issues and real estate transactions for the firm.
Summer holds her Juris Doctorate from Research Attorney School of Law, and has her undergraduate degree in Political Science with specializations in both Women’s Studies and International Relations. These days Summer spends nearly all of her time in Old Town and Downtown Lansing, where you may see she and her husband Kevin walking the river trail or having a cup of coffee with friends.
Jamie Schriner-Hooper is the Executive Director of the Old Town Commercial Association, a position she’s held since 2005. In her current position, Jamie is responsible for overseeing the revitalization efforts of Lansing’s historic Old Town district, including working with an extensive number of volunteers, facilitating community dialogue, grant writing, the area’s aesthetics and more. Previously, Jamie worked for BioPort Corporation (Emergent BioSolutions), as a Communications and Government Affairs Specialist, where she set up BioPort’s charitable giving program, working with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ronald McDonald House, American Cancer Society and others. Jamie holds her Master’s degree in Communications from Michigan State University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Family Studies and German from Central Michigan University. In her free time, Jamie enjoys gardening, volunteering and spending time with her family
