A few years ago while driving through Big Sur, California, I stumbled across a state park that boasted a beautiful waterfall called McWay Falls.  Stopping along the side of the road to admire the falls dumping into the Pacific Ocean, I noticed a tiny wedding ceremony in progress. I remember thinking: Wow-rigging your wedding to take place near a natural scenic treasure is incredibly romantic!

The Capital City African American Cultural Association (CCAACA) today announced that the 2011 Parade and Family Heritage Festival will be postphoned due to the challenges of the economy and the unexpected rising costs of holding the annual event.   The Parade and Festival summertime event, which began in 2000 to celebrate the African American presence and the rich diversity in mid-Michigan, features marching bands, floats, food, vendors, and music in dowtown Lansing.
