Interpersonal Edge: Helping employee understand the meaning of ‘no’

By Dr. Daneen Skube
Tribune Media Services

 Q. I have an employee that treats “no” as little more than a speed bump. He just goes faster and pretends I didn’t say anything. Lessons of a Former Bully

By Diego Sandoval

We’Ced Youth Media /

According to studies by the American Medical Association, more than 3.2 million youths experience “moderate” or “serious” bullying. In my case, it started as early as I can remember.

Editor’s note:  Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the family  of Everett High School student Dalia Carpenter who committed suicide, a tragedy family and friends have blamed partially on cyber-bullying.

Also Christine Keith, 37, lost her life along with her teenage son Isaac Miller,14, in a domestic violence crime.
Adults bully too.

Tradition passes from father to son, despite the advancement and technology of decorative illumination from grenade-sized bulbs to the hi-def LED or from the plastic Santa and his reindeers to the “blow-up” snowman.
