Caribbean Heritage Month commemoration was adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2005 to recognize the significance of Caribbean people and their descendants in the history and culture of the United States. The resolution passed the Senate in Feb. 2006 and President George H.W. Bush issued the proclamation in June 2006. LANSING, MI – The LCC Alumni Association will host its 14th annual Day at the Zoo 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Potter Park Zoo, sponsored by LAFCU. Admission is FREE for LCC alumni, students, employees, retirees and their families. Parking is $3 for Ingham County residents, and $5 if you reside outside of Ingham County. If you have taken one class at LCC, you are considered an alumnus.

BATTLE CREEK, MI — In April, 2016, FireKeepers Casino Hotel and its owners, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi purchased and took possession of the historic Fire Station No. 4 located near downtown Battle Creek, Michigan, with the goal of revitalizing the building and turning it into a restaurant, bakery, and, most importantly, a much needed food pantry to help those less fortunate.
