There comes a time in all of our lives when the roles reverse. Suddenly, we are no longer the child and the parenting skills we’ve so carefully honed with our own kids now need to be turned toward our aging parents.
Growing up in a military family was difficult for me because there was no adult male to help me cope with the “Rites of Passage” that many young males experience in an unstable environment – defiance, lack of self-esteem, anger, and violent behavior.

I take care of a lot of adolescent girls, including many who are involved in competitive sports. As participation in organized sports and single sports year round has increased, so have overuse injuries.
