We have this saying in our house, “please forgive me for offending you”. Forgiveness is a

two way street. There is acknowledgment that you have offended someone, and then there is receiving of forgiveness. Once I initiate the saying, there is a sense of relief in the among family after forgiveness is given and received. My pride issues are gone. I can actually function again.
