The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) and the Michigan
Public Health Institute (MPHI) will host the upcoming “Every Ounce
Counts – Michigan Breastfeeding Summit” as an effort to bring
business, industry, government, health and community leaders together to
better understand the critical role they have to the future of our state
and the health of our citizens by supporting breastfeeding mothers. The
goal of the summit is to build stronger partnerships, share successes
and find new opportunities by working with other leaders to devise
strategies and actions that support breastfeeding.
Governor Granholm urges Congress to continue the federal EUC program
NOVEMBER 22, 2010 – Michigan’s Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) will stop taking and processing new claims for the federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) after November 27, as Congress has not passed legislation extending the federally-funded jobless benefits beyond their November 30 expiration date.
