OTCA Response to Vandalism Incident, July 30, 2025

To Our Neighbors, Supporters, and Friends of Old Town,

Around 3 A.M. this morning, multiple buildings in Old Town were tagged with racist, xenophobic, and homophobic graffiti. Property owners have already begun the process of removing the graffiti and we are working closely with the Lansing Police Department and the City of Lansing to bring the perpetrator to justice.

We believe our neighborhood was targeted because we are open and welcoming to anyone who embraces their neighbor and works to improve our community as a whole. We will not tolerate this horrible behavior nor will it make us change our firm belief that everyone has a home in Old Town, unless their actions are rooted in hate and harm.
If you have any information that may help with this investigation, please contact the Lansing Police Department at (517) 483-4600.
