Lansing will pulsate with the rhythmic beat of spoken word as the Poetry in the City kicks off. Poetry in the City is an annual event that showcases a number of locally and nationally recognized poets. A NuPoet Collective and The New Citizens Press’ brainchild, the series is being organized in conjunction with the Lansing Jaycees.
This year’s electrifying lineup is a colorfully diverse montage of poetic styles. Featured spoken-word artists include Aaron Lee, Meia Ray, Felisha Elaine Clay, Bill Morris, Rosemarie Wilson, Mike Grove, Nancy Allen, Tashmica Torok and many others. There will also be an opportunity for members of the community to share their poems as well.
