Chrystal Price, DJ and Project Manager and Data Analyst at MSU’s Center for Ethics and Humanities in the Life Sciences
Chrystal Price moved to East Lansing in 1997 to attend college at Michigan State University. During her first four years here she completed two undergraduate degrees in psychology and criminal justice. Being active in community activities in her hometown, Chrystal quickly became involved with Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity and during her time spent with the fraternity, she held the office of Safe Drivers’ Coordinator and participated in the social committee. During her years as an undergraduate she was also inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Golden Key National Honor Society.
Post-graduation, Chrystal has been involved in the Greater Lansing Urban League Young Professionals as vice president and acting president and Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority as president of the Alpha Lambda chapter, former webmistress and public relations director for the Michigan Great Lakes State Council (MGLSC) and currently as the Collegiate/Youth director of the council.
In addition to her community involvement, Chrystal designs clothing and jewelry for her EastWestLove line, serves as a graphic and web designer for several clients; writes, designs, and edits e-Xine.com web magazine, freelances for New Zealand’s premiere online fashion magazine Thread, DJs with John Beltran and for the Nu Poets, and teaches an anti-racism course at her church.
When Chrystal isn’t busy with extracurricular activities, she is a graduate student in the Department of Epidemiology at MSU, and is employed by MSU’s Center for Ethics and Humanities in the Life Sciences as a project manager and data analyst. Chrystal also serves as an editorial consultant for MSU’s Families and Communities Together Coalition (FACT).
Chrystal has received numerous awards including Who’s Who Among Graduate Students in America, the First Pearl Award from Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, induction into the ESA Jonquil Society, and recognition as an ESA Ambassador.
