LANSING- St. Stephen’s Community Church, United Church Of Christ will be hosting its annual Women’s Weekend, January 22-24, 2010. This year’s theme is “DIVAS: Divinely Inspired Victorious Anointed Sisters in Christ”. The scripture for the weekend is 2 Peter 1:5-8.
The weekend’s events will include Praise & Worship on Friday, January 22nd at 6:30pm and will feature performances by the SSCC Children’s Bell Choir, Worship Without Words, and Total Praise Dance Ministry.
Saturday will feature 9:30am workshops presented by Dr. Aisha Steplight Johnson of MSU’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and gospel hip hop star Mizz Reality. Evangelist Yolanda Knight will be the guest preacher during 10:00am worship service on Sunday. All events are free and open to the public.
For more than 10 years, the SSCC Women’s Ministry has held this event to uplift and inspire women from all over the greater Lansing area. “This year’s Women’s Weekend is dedicated to the late Sister Carol Greer who had a passion for the Women’s Ministry at St. Stephen’s and was a true DIVA”, says Karen Corley, Women’s Ministry Coordinator.
All Women’s Weekend events will be held at St. Stephen’s Community Church, UCC located at 1007 Kimberly Drive, Lansing, 48912. The church is off Grand River and Chester Streets near the AAA Building.
