Group Circulates Petitions to Recall Lansing Mayor Virgil Bernero

If successful, the city will have to hold a recall election. Mayor Virg Bernero just took office on January 1, 2006.

Activist John Pollard is leading the effort. If Pollard succeeds, voters could decide as early as February to vote Bernero out of office. Pollard has stated Bernero "is unfit and his behavior is too inappropriate to serve as Lansing’s mayor."

The recall  information  includes 21 points why Bernero should be recalled, including Bernero’s refusal to release information on job postings, the number of applicants and the number of people interviewed for certain positions.

Pollard said that people are signing up everyday to assist with the recall process.
