LANSING, MI – The following CATA services operating on MSU campus will conclude for the holiday season as follows:
Weekday Campus Service (Routes 30 thru 33 & 39)-Routes 32 and 33 conclude on Friday, December 16, 2011 at their regular time (approximately 7 p.m.). Routes 30, 31 and 39 end weekday service at their regular times between 2 -2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, December 17, 2011.
Night Owl (late night service)-will operate as scheduled until 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2011.
Weekend Campus Service (Routes 34, 35, 36 and Lot Link)-will operate regular Saturday and Sunday schedules until approximately 2 a.m. on Monday morning, December 19, 2011.
System-wide, CATA’s Spartan Service-the additional bus service that is in effect only during MSU fall and spring semesters-will not operate between Monday, December 19, 2011 and Sunday, January 8, 2012. In addition to all MSU campus service concluding for the break, Routes 1, 25, 26 and Entertainment Express will operate at reduced service levels as described on the following page. Refer to the individual route schedule (in print or online at cata.org) for specific times.
Route 1-Downtown Lansing/Meridian Mall-will not operate Friday or Saturday Late Night service after 11:25 p.m. The last bus departs Meridian Mall at 10:55 p.m. en route to the CATA Transportation Center (CTC). However, the CATA Entertainment Express trolley service will be available Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights (with the exception of Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve) during the break for travel to destinations along the Grand River/Michigan corridor. The Express operates every 30 minutes between downtown Lansing and downtown East Lansing from 7:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. during the break.
Route 1 will run every 15 minutes (rather than every 10 minutes) weekdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. On Saturdays, between 11:30 a.m. and 5:35 p.m., buses will run every 15 minutes.
Routes 20 – 25-During the break, Routes 20, 22, and 23 will travel into the MSU-CATA Transportation Center across from Shaw Hall. Routes 24 and 25 will continue to serve Ramp 5 on Red Cedar.
Route 25 North Harrison-weekday buses will operate every 60 minutes during the day rather than every 30 minutes. Evening and weekend service remains the same.
Route 26 Abbot/Chandler-weekday buses will operate every 45 minutes rather than every 6-15 minutes and conclude at 7:20 p.m. at the MSU-CATA Transportation Center located at Ramp 1. There will be no Thursday, Friday or Saturday late night service to downtown East Lansing. Saturday service will end at 7:15 p.m. at the MSU-CATA Transportation Center.
Routes 30 through 36, 39, Lot Link and Night Owl -do not operate on campus during the break.
Spartan Service Resumes Monday, January 9, 2012
Lot Link will begin providing campus service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012, and run until 2 a.m. Monday morning, January 9, 2012, when Night Owl service resumes. The remaining Spartan Service provided on Routes 1, 25, 26, 30 through 36, 39 and Entertainment Express resumes Monday, January 9, 2012.
