News Spotlight: New Year shooting leaves man dead, four wounded

 

On Tuesday January 1, 2013 at 2:01 a.m. officers responded to a convenience store on the 700 block of W. Willow on reports of a shooting in progress. A total of 5 persons sustained injuries resulting from gun-shot wounds. Several of the subjects were involved in a physical altercation inside the store when the shooting erupted and further continued outside of the business. Each of the below subjects were treated at a local hospital.

The injuries of the subjects are described as the following;
1. Fatal injury (male subject), not identified at writing
2. 22 year old, Lansing resident sustained non-life threatening injury
3. 24 year old, Lansing resident sustained critical injury – critical condition
4. 25 year old, Lansing resident sustained critical injury – stable condition
5. 23 year old, Lansing resident sustained critical injury – stable condition
The LPD Investigations Division is investigating this incident as a homicide. At the time of this writing, no one is in custody.
