Tuesday Nov. 3 Make a Plan to Vote: Vote at Home, Vote Early or Vote on Election Day

LANSING – Michigan voters have choices to cast their ballot which make it easier to vote.  Voters can sign up for the Permanent Ballot List and have a ballot mailed to them at their permanent or temporary home, vote early at one of two early voting locations in Lansing, or vote on Election Day.

What is on the Ballot?

Lansing citizens will vote on the ballot that includes candidates for state-wide office like Governor, US Senate, US House, State Senate, State House, and Michigan Supreme Court. There are also local races for Lansing Community College Trustees and school Board Members. There are two statewide proposals and a variety of local proposals. You can preview your ballot through https://LansingVotes.gov

Vote at Home (also known as Vote by Mail or Absentee voting)

Over 22,000 Lansing City voters never worry about missing an election again because they signed up for the Permanent Ballot List and will receive their ballot in the mail for this November 3 Election and every election. Absentee Ballot applications are available at https://LansingVotes.gov or at either Clerk’s office location.

Absentee ballots can be returned for free via US Mail, or by utilizing one of Lansing’s 14 drop boxes located at every fire station, community center, and both Lansing City Clerk’s Offices. Please make sure your ballot is delivered to your local clerk’s office or local drop box by 8pm on Election Day November 3.  You can also tabulate your absentee ballot at your precinct on Election Day or at one of the City’s two early voting locations.

Early Voting

Lansing voters now have the right to cast a ballot in person at designated early voting sites before Election Day. Lansing voters can feed their own ballot into the tabulator in a similar process to voting on Election Day. See below for hours and locations.
