The Lansing Police Department has reclassified the suspicious death of 3 month old Janayjah Sanders, to a Homicide.
The Lansing Police Department Investigation’s division has identified a person of interest / suspect in this case. The suspect, who is the father of the deceased, is in custody and currently being held in the Lansing Police lock up.
This afternoon the suspect, a 37 year old Lansing man, was arraigned in
54-A District in front of Judge Alderson on the following charges:
John Harold Sanders
Count 1: Homicide – Open Murder (Felony)
Count 2: Child Abuse – First Degree (Felony)
Habitual Offender – Fourth Offense
BOND: Remanded – County Jail
Sanders will have the following hearings scheduled in 54-A District
court in front of Judge Clarke:
Pre-Exam Conference: Tuesday, 1/15/13 @1:15 PM
Preliminary Hearing: Thursday, 1/17/13 @ 8:30 AM
