New Spotlight: Murder and Shooting: Two Separate Incidents

On June 16, 2013 at 2:00 a.m. officers responded to a business on the 5900 block of S. Pennsylvania reference a shooting. Officers contacted a 21 year old Lansing male with a gunshot wound. The victim was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. Investigators are not releasing the name of the victim until full family notification has been completed. The investigations Division is still interviewing persons relative to this case and are requesting those persons with information to contact Detective Sergeant Christopher Baldwin at (517) 483-6846. Another Shooting
On June 16, 2013 at 2:33 a.m. officers received information of a shooting victim that arrived at a local hospital. The victim (41 yr old, Lansing male) reported that he had been shot in the parking lot while at a business on the 3800 block of S. Cedar St. Detectives are still working this case and it appears that the victim’s injuries are non-life threatening.


Closing Remark
It appears that the above two shootings are not related. Both investigations remain open. I will be taking camera interviews regarding both of these shootings today June 16, 2013 @ the
North Precinct between 10:30 and 11:15.
