On Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at approximately 8:40 p.m. Ingham County dispatch sent Lansing Police to a Robbery at the Wendy’s restaurant in the 3600 block of S. Martin L. King. While enroute Officers were updated with information that the suspect left. Upon arrival Officers learned the following information:

The suspect entered the restaurant, pointed a handgun at employees and demanded money. Employees retreated as the suspect approached and did not give the suspect money. After a short period the suspect exited the business on foot. No employee was injured during this crime. The suspect was described as:

Hispanic male, 20-25 years of age, 5’5”, 140 lbs, wearing a black hat with a red bandana covering his face, with a dark blue or black coat and some sort of light blue wrap (poss. Bandana) around his right wrist.

 

Shortly after the above attempted robbery (approximately 8:56 p.m.), Lansing Police were dispatched to the Quality Dairy in the 1200 block of W. Willow on a robbery. Responding Officers were informed the suspect robbed the store and left on foot. Upon arrival Officers learned the following information:

The suspect entered the store, pointed a handgun at employees and demanded money and store merchandise. The suspect was given money and merchandise and quickly exited the store. No store employees were injured during this crime. The suspect was described as:

Hispanic male, 16-19 years of age, 5’5” to 5’6” skinny body, wearing a red bandanna on his face with a ball cap and wearing all black clothes.

Lansing Police believe the suspect’s description is similar in both, the attempted robbery at Wendy’s and the robbery at Quality Dairy. Police are not ruling out the possibility the same suspect is responsible for both crimes.

Police are asking for assistance in identifying this suspect as well as for information regarding these crimes. Do not attempt to make contact with this suspect, he should be considered armed.
