On Thursday, October 22, 2015 at approximately 6:23 am Lansing Police responded the Walgreens (410 E. Jolly) in regard to a robbery. The suspect entered the store, approached an employee, produced a handgun and demanded money. The suspect was given money and left the store in an unknown direction.
Lansing Police Officers and Detectives have been actively investigating this robbery. Suspect description and photos were released to the media, social media and also to CRIME STOPPERS for broadcast.
On Thursday October 29, 2015, acting on a tip generated from the CRIME STOPPES broadcast, Lansing Police went to a residence in the 3200 block of Continental Dr. to locate the suspect. The subject attempted to flee when officers approached, subsequently secreted himself in the residence and disregarded commands to surrender. These observations and case information led to a Special Tactics and Rescue Team response. At approximately 6 am Lansing Police located and arrested the robbery suspect in this residence without incident. The suspect was transported to the Lansing Police Detention facility.
Detailed investigative reports with regard to this robbery were submitted to the Ingham County Prosecutor for review.
