Michael Jennings, (THE PICTURE MAN), a resident of Lansing since 1971 began his photographic career as a hobby during his college days as a way to collect memories from his many travels and social activities. After taking photos for several years and getting many positive comments regarding his photo taking skills, he decided to change this hobby he enjoyed into a part time semi-professional career. Michael has been taking photos over the years for many different organizations and for individuals who needed photo services with high quality photos images.
     Michael is married to Christina Jennings, has two grown sons, and one stepson. He is employed with the State of Michigan and is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Mr. Jennings has also been affiliated with the Big brothers Big sisters Organization, the Boy and Girls Club, BCFI and has volunteered for numerous community activities.
     Mr. Jennings has taken photos for many community, cultural and Greek related activities in the Lansing area. Some of the events include, the annual African American Parade, the Old Town Jazz and Blues Festivals, the Martin Luther King Luncheon, the NAACP annual dinner, MSU Black Alumni Association, the Michigan Black Caucus ,  The New Citizens Press and Michigan Bulletin newspapers, Jack and Jill organization, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity , Gregory’s Ice & Smoke, numerous birthday parties, retirement parties, political events and many community activities held throughout the city.
     Mr. Jennings says he is a community active photographer who tries to cover events of interest to the community and shows a variety of visual information. His motto for photographs is “Preserve your Thousand Words” “The Picture Man will see you around town sooner or later.
