In this episode of The TNCP Review – “My State, Your State” Election Edition, show host & publisher Rina Risper talks with Black Iowa News publisher, Dana James, regarding issues concerning the upcoming general elections. Iowa’s current governor, Kim Reynolds, is being criticized for her race-baiting video commercials that has been running online and on TV repeatedly. James talks about the Black community;s response, and the response from all people in general regarding the racist election ad.
In Michigan, Rina Risper addresses the concern of distasteful election campaigns thrown at Black publishers who are struggling and need the money. Risper described her personal experience and what she had to do with one stubborn client refusing to change the content of an offensive election advertisement.
Risper also reflects on the awkward statements from Michigan Secretary of State candidate, Krisina Karamo, a 37 year-old, single parent who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, and believes that the “elites drink blood and sell baby body parts after abortions.”
Finally, Risper also discusses the eerie similarity of looks between the current incumbent Michigan governor, Gretchen Whitmer and her opponent, Tudor Dixon who has changed her appearance to look like Gov. Whitmer.
