EAST LANSING, MI — Community members are invited to visit downtown East Lansing for a special art exhibit featuring artwork made by local students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The exhibit runs now through June 3.
Students and teachers from all six East Lansing elementary schools as well as MacDonald Middle School, East Lansing High School (ELHS) and Stepping Stones Montessori have partnered with the East Lansing Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to host this special exhibit.
Artwork is on display at the following participating businesses: Aloha Cookin’, Blue Owl Coffee, Campbell’s Market Basket, Campus Corner, Crunchy’s, Detroit Wing Company, Foster Coffee Company, HopCat East Lansing, Jackson National Life, Massage and Wellness, Moosejaw Mountaineering, Peanut Barrel, Quark!, Risky Studios, Seams, Skin Studio, Starbucks, Student Book Store, Underground Printing, the windows of the former Evergreen Cycles and the windows of the former Huntington Bank provided by the State News.
“As an educator with students contributing for the first time, I am so thankful to see this collaboration between ELHS and the City of East Lansing. All students deserve to have their art seen and validated, and it’s clear that the City and its businesses are committed to the entire student population here in East Lansing. My students are already planning trips to see each other’s works,” said East Lansing High School art teacher Cody Harrell.
