LANSING, MI – The Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP) has announced an exciting partnership with the Detroit Lions to provide dedicated nursing rooms for mothers at Ford Field. This initiative is part of a larger effort to create a more inclusive, family-friendly environment for fans attending games. The nursing rooms will offer a supportive space for mothers to care for their infants, helping families feel comfortable while enjoying events at the stadium.
The nursing rooms, co-branded by MESP and the Detroit Lions, are strategically located on three different levels of Ford Field. Each room is designed with mothers in mind, featuring comfortable seating, changing tables, and privacy screens to ensure a peaceful environment. The easily accessible spaces will serve event attendees and Lions family members, promoting a welcoming atmosphere for breastfeeding mothers and their families.
Diane Brewer, Program Manager of MESP, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting its alignment with the organization’s mission. “We are thrilled to partner with the Lions to support nursing mothers and families at Ford Field,” Brewer said. “This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering a more inclusive environment and promoting the importance of saving for children’s future higher education expenses.”
The Detroit Lions are equally enthusiastic about this collaboration. Todd Argust, Senior Vice President of Facilities for the Detroit Lions, emphasized the organization’s dedication to providing a welcoming experience for all fans. “We are proud to partner with MESP to offer these nursing rooms and support families in our community,” Argust said.
This partnership underscores the shared values of MESP and the Detroit Lions in supporting families, higher education, and inclusivity in both sports and entertainment settings.
