Q: I’m going to be retiring soon but I’m not quite ready to quit working. I’d like to do something next and have been thinking a lot about starting my own business. Does the library have any resources for folks over 50 who would like to start a business?
Lansing, MI — On Saturday, April 21, 2007, The Greater Lansing Area Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc. (NANBPWC) will celebrate 25 years of service to the Lansing area community. This year’s silver anniversary theme, “Honoring our Past, Celebrating Today & Embracing the Future,” will be reflected through a visual historical presentation during the brunch.

The week before March 31, 2007, which was the date of our first CCCAN’s (Capitol City Community Action Network’s) first Town Hall Forum, I prepared with feelings of contentment and sentiments ranging from anxiety to excitement. The members of CCCAN were giving the community a forum to express their concerns and actually be heard.
