Auto Body Credit Union Was Prepared to Offer Auto Workers and Suppliers a HAND

LANSING, MI — Auto Body Credit Union (ABCU) was set to Lend a HAND to auto workers and suppliers impacted by the recently ended strike on General Motors. The HAND (Helping Autoworkers Negotiate Debt) offered to members of the credit union would have allowed them to delay or defer loan payments for up to three months.
“We were founded by auto workers and have served auto workers for nearly 60 years,” notes Margo Kleinfelt, President/CEO. “We understand the strain a strike can put on a family’s finances and we want to be there to help them get through it. ABCU was created to help members save money and to weather bumps in the road.”
