Nadia Sellers, CEO of National Career Group and President of Detroit Industrial Engineering Services
Nadia Sellers was born in Belize City British Honduras and was raised in Los Angeles California. Nadia moved to Lansing Michigan in 1991. She was selected by Ebony Magazine as one of the most eligible bacheloretts of 2002.
She spent several years modeling overseas prior to moving to Lansing. She was her high school Home Coming Queen and Runner up for Miss Black Los Angeles in 1981. She has contributed several articles to Black Enterprise Magazine. She wrote the article “Addressing Diversity in the Workplace”. She received a special tribute from the State of Michigan, ninety-first legislatures, the silver sponsorship award from Juneteenth, contributed career stories to the Lansing State Journal and she is currently writing her first book “Please Pardon My Post Partum”.
Nadia recently made her acting debut in the play “Long Time Since Yesterday”.
She is currently the CEO of National Career Group a professional staffing and Training Company, with locations in Lansing, Ohio and Detroit. She is the President of Detroit Industrial Engineering Services. Before she opened National Career Group she owned the following companies: Sasse Productions, Sasse Records and Gett Model Management while residing in New York.
Nadia said that she has a passion for volunteering for causes and issues that she believes in. She is an advocate of children. She had a Modeling and Charm School that she operated out of the Black Child and Family Institute and held a successful free health care fair for children and their parents that served over 250 people . She also initiated and participated in the march against black on black crime in the early ‘90’s. Nadia said, “There was an increase of Black on Black crime at that time. My heart went out to a 7 year old boy who was accidently shot in a drive by shooting.”
She is also a basketball coach for Police Athletic League (PAL) and she also sits on the board.
Nadia is the proud mother of 4. Sade Diana Sellers a sophomore at Eastern High School, De’ Shaney Marie Sellers a freshman at Eastern High School and Lonnie Blair Smith, Leonard Andre Smith, 9 month old twin boys.
