We’ve been made aware of scammers contacting people claiming to represent the Capital Area Humane Society. These individuals are falsely stating that we have their pet in “urgent care” and requesting credit card information over the phone.
Please note:–The Capital Area Humane Society does NOT operate an urgent care.
–We will NEVER ask for your credit card information over the phone in this way.
If you receive such a call, do not provide any personal or financial information. Hang up immediately and report the incident to local law enforcement.
