Dear Readers,
I can not remember my mother ever signing me up for sports. Indeed she drove a station wagon but I think it was to cart the planting and gardening supplies she needed. I learned plenty of things from her but sports was not on the top of the list.

Left: Sandhill Crane Vineyards held a ”Warm the Children, Chill the Wine” fundraiser in 2011. Wonderful knitters and crocheters created hats and scarves for wine bottles. In the fall, sandhill cranes gather in staging areas like the Haehnle Sanctuary to begin the migration process, which is located close to Sandhill Crane Vineyards.
