CLEVELAND, OH — Nu Mecca Records officially has entered into a national joint venture agreement with Orpheus Music, Inc. to release the highly anticipated LP from songstress and Cleveland, Ohio native Conya Doss.
Orpheus Music, Inc., the NYC based company, is currently home to multi-platinum recording artist Juvenile’s label UTP Records, and Former Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield’s imprint Real Deal Records. Orpheus Music, Inc. will assist Nu Mecca Records in developing strategic promotion and marketing campaigns for Nu Mecca Records releases, in conjunction with EMI Music Distribution handling the manufacturing and distribution of Nu Mecca Records product throughout North America. Orpheus Music, Inc. has previously been home to gold and platinum recording artist Freddie Jackson, Najee, Compton’s Most Wanted, Eric Gable, Alex Bugnon, current New Adult Contemporary sensation André Ward.
Nu Mecca Records, a Cleveland based company who is chaired by hit record producer Edwin “Tony” Nicholas, is currently home to classic soul ingenue Conya Doss. Doss’ first single “Coffee” has impacted urban radio in several markets throughout the country. Nu Mecca will release Doss’ critically acclaimed self-titled LP July 2002. Nu Mecca will handle financing their day-to-day operations, while maintaining full creative control and ownership rights of all production and recording. Nu Mecca will initiate publicity, marketing and promotion campaigns designed to begin the initial “buzz” in key markets for Nu Mecca product.
Nu Mecca Records, a division of Nu Mecca Entertainment, is a record label and artist development company operating in the R&B and Hip-hop genres. Nu Mecca seeks to identify and develop new artists to the point where their songs and music videos will reach a national audience.
Nu Mecca has assembled a management team with over 60 years of combined experience in the music industry. The management team has experience in operating a record label and developing artists, with substantial and established track records in song writing, music productions and engineering as well as the marketing and sales of records.
Moreover, the management team has worked with many of the industry’s platinum recording artists and major and independent music companies.
