Ricarah Ene’ Riddle
Ricarah Ene’ Riddle ,17, is currently a senior at Holt High School. Her educational journey (after home schooling) led her to a bi-lingual pre-school (Small Folks Development Center), Center for Language, Culture and Communication Arts, Mid-Michigan Public School Academy, Lansing Christian, a performing arts school (Riddle Magnet Middle School), New Covenant Christian and Holt High School.
Throughout her entire academic career, Ricarah has always made the Honor Roll. Since arriving at Holt as a junior, she has consistently made the /High Honor Roll by maintaining a 3.79 or higher GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society, International Club, the Girls Varsity Basketball team and a dual enrollee at Lansing Community College, earning 20 transferable credits and maintaining a 3.2 GPA. This fall Ricarah plans to attend the prestigious HBCU Spelman College, where she will major in the Performing Arts.
Ricarah has participated in: The Midwest Talent Search for Young Students, The President’s Education Award, The MEAP Writing Merit Award, MSU’s Kid’s College, LCC’s Saturday School, and the KCP Rising Stars.
Ricarah’s is a member of the Holt 2008 District Championship Girls Varsity Basketball Team. She was the 2006 Miss Sparkle Success Pageant Queen and the 2005 Area District Leader in Rebounds. She is a Published Poet of Young Poets and a /scholarship recipient of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp as an accomplished advanced classical flautist. She is also a jazz flautist and was asked to play with Alexander Zonjic. A Girl Scout since the 2nd grade; Ricarah has earned her Silver and Gold Award. She is also a ballet dancer, model and professional actress of stage, television, film and radio.
Ricarah has also been recognized for her volunteerism, public speaking and leadership skills. She received the 2008 MLK, Jr. Citizenship Award; is nominated for the 2008 Phenomenal Woman’s Award “Novice Extraordinaire”, and was a Y-Achiever Speaker at the Lansing Rotary Club. She was featured on the cover of the 2007 December issue of Breakthrough Magazine;/ was the 2007 Student Speaker for Lansing City Council’s MLK Observance Day, the Teen Speaker to Judge Glenda Hatchett, the Guest Student Speaker for Black History Month at Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Workshop Facilitator for young girls at St. Stephens Community Church. She has been her Grade Level President, the Club Assistant Chaplain, Vice President and is the Immediate Past Debutante President.
