Excuse Me… 8-15

Dear Readers,

Thank you for the awesome first step towards being your next City Council person.  I’m appreciative of all the support that I received. Of course,  I could use more support, more volunteers and more resources. Please remember to vote on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

It has been very interesting.

My victory party is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Gregory’s Ice and Smoke from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. It is called “a TRANSFORMATION  is coming… can you feel it?”

I even took a vacation after the election. It’s time for us to begin to look at family a lot closer.

My friend, Cynthia, told me that her family is now praying together even though they live miles apart from each other.

They send each other scripture by e-mail  and then they pray at a certain time.  She stated that her whole family has been blessed as a result of the group prayer.  I understand that very well.

Please pray for me and my family as we go through this.  My intent is not to be adversarial it’s to provide creative solutions to some of the issues that we currently have in the city.  There are people who just need answers to their questions.

Regardless of how we feel about individuals, those who represent the city must have a certain amount of decorum.  It’s important for us to respect each other.  You never know who is going to be taking care of you at the hospital, or who is teaching your children, or who knows what you buy at the grocery store…

Being mindful of that is going to be important as we move through these trying times.  We really need each other as a city of neighborhoods.

As we move through this economic tsunami we must remember that we will survive this.  Our issues may change along with some of our industries but overall we will be successful if we have hope and faith in the people that live in our city.

Sincerely,

Rina Risper
