Gretchen Whitmer Supporters Announce the Formation of ¡Viva Whitmer! For Governor

LANSING, MI — Today Gretchen Whitmer for Governor supporters announced the formation of ¡Viva Whitmer! For Governor, a group of Latino community leaders from across Michigan.

The group was founded by former Michigan State Representative Lee Gonzales, Maria Enriquez, Larry Arreguin, Dr. Rubén Martinez, Dr. Juan Coronado, Dr. Nino Rodriguez, and Guillermo Lopez, and includes Representative Vanessa Guerra, Representative Henry Yanez, and Michigan Spanish Speaking Democrats President Rebecca Lugo.

“Having served with Gretchen in the House, I know she’s a problem solver that will get things done for the Latino community,” said Gonzales. “She has real plans to fix our roads, grow household incomes and make Michigan a leader in public education again. Gretchen will get it done so we can build a better Michigan for everyone.”

“Gretchen knows how to bring people together to get things done,” said Rep. Guerra. “She has traveled to all 83 counties to hear from real Michiganders about the problems facing their communities. As governor, Gretchen will focus on the things that will actually make a difference in people’s lives right now, and I’m proud to be in her corner.”

“Gretchen has been on the front lines fighting for all Michigan families,” said Lugo. “Her unwavering dedication to fixing our broken education system and ensuring everyone in Michigan has a path to a high wage skill make her our strongest candidate to take back the governor’s office. With Gretchen as Governor, we’re going to ensure the success of communities across Michigan.”

“I’m thrilled to have the support of Latino community leaders across Michigan” said Whitmer. “I’m committed to partnering with them to develop a real plan for our communities that will ensure that as we grow our economy, household incomes grow with it, every student has a path to a high wage skill, our roads are safe to drive on, and every community has clean, safe drinking water. Let’s get it done.”
