LANSING, MI — Natalia Villafana, owner of Natalia Villafana, Couture Design, is expanding her business to Tampa, Florida. She will also maintain her business in Lansing.
It has been a whirlwind year for Villafana who states she is having the time of her life. Due to a burgeoning fashion industry in Florida, she is relocating to Tampa. The move will give her an opportunity to expand her growing clientele base.
She was the 2010 “Fashion In Detroit Design Competition” winner. Her designs have been worn by Mary J. Blige; Simone Smith, the wife of LL Cool J and Aida Rodriguez, comedienne and actress to name a few.
Villafana also designed the gown worn by Miss Nigeria in America 2010 winner, Angel Adelaja.
Fashion In Detroit is an annual, two-day fashion event co-created by Project Runway’s Joe Faris, along with Karen Buscemi, K’Kio Hardin, Lians Jadan and Leslie Ann Pilling to put a fashion spotlight on Michigan and create a venue that fills the needs of many locally based designers and the Michigan fashion community. Fashion In Detroit 2010 took place at the MotorCity Casino Hotel located in Detroit, MI.
Villafana’s Fall/Winter Collection was dedicated to the American troops.
Villafana said,“My collection is more than dedication it is inspiration. This line is my artistic representation to support our troops and to show my personal love for America through fashion.”
