Lansing’s Code Blue Extreme Weather Plan Until November 11

LANSING, MI — The City of Lansing, in coordination with the Lansing Fire Department’s Emergency Management Division and the Department of Human Relations & Community Service (HRCS), has activated the Code Blue extreme cold weather plan.  This takes effect immediately and will remain in place until 7:00 am on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The Letts Community Center will operate as an overnight warming center from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Under the Code Blue plan, local shelters are permitted to extend their hours and temporarily expand capacity to accommodate those in need of safe, warm shelter.
