Owner of Urban Classic Interiors
Dan Adams, is a native of Lansing, is carrying out his dream in Old Town. Dan attended University of Michigan and graduated from Davenport University with a bachelor’s degree in Business administration in 1989. Although his passion would always be for interior design, he then went on to work in the health insurance industry for over 20 years. During this time he also owned his own business, Adams Catering, where he was able to enjoy his second passion, culinary arts. After many years of corporate red tape, bureaucracies and politics, he decided to leave the insurance business and try his hand and open his own self funded store.
In November of 2006, Dan would finally begin his journey to fulfill a lifelong dream, when he opened the door to Urban Classic Interiors, a high end, home interior, resale gallery in Lansing, MI.
Dan had started collecting a few pieces several years earlier in anticipation for the day. He started his own collection of primitive, authentic African art 22 years ago but really started his collection of pieces for the store over a year before it opened. Dan carefully hand picks each item that he sells in his store and buys only the most elegant, unique and upscale accessories for the home. He is available for custom interior design and also accepts consignment pieces.
Dan is enjoying watching his new business grow and make its home in Old Town and at the same time appreciates the opportunity to be able to say he is doing what he wants to do in life. Urban Classic Interiors has somewhat flexible hours because Dan has to spend time shopping for his customers, but tries to remain open Tuesday – Friday 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:0
