Most Interesting and Influential 2009

LANSING, MI —  It’s that time of year again, when we feature our Most Influential and Most Interesting people The New Citizens Press has come in contact with.

This year we featured individuals who have done a fantastic job of providing value to their communities. They have gone far beyond traditional methods of proactively engaging hundreds of people over the years.

Some of our readers are most comfortable with those who are constantly in the eye of the public and others thrive on giving those who work tirelessly in the background acknowledgements.  Regardless of which side you are on you’ll find all  those mentioned of interest.

This year we have our first married couple, Myron Sheldon Freeman, Sr, Esq. and Delores King-Freeman.   We have also featured “Coach” Lonnie Marshall Jr., who has touched  the lives of thousands of children and adults, through giving his time to track and field through  Capital City Sports Club.

Organizations need an appropriate leader who provides them with a set of tools needed to succeed.  We have seen Nettavia Curry involved in the arts, including theatrical productions and the lives of the people of the groups that she interacts with in creative ways.

As the President of the Pan-Hellenic Council of Lansing, MI (a collaborative organization of eight African American, international Greek lettered fraternities and sororities) her organization hosted a family bowling night.  The event brought together those who wanted to bowl, have dinner or  to socialize.

We are always looking for the best in our communities.   We are accepting your nominations all year long.
