Murder at Riverwalk Theatre! It’s no mystery that Riverwalk’s next show will be a screaming good time!

The cast and crew of the dark comedy Ravenscroft are polishing up their magnifying glasses to solve this season’s most infamous murder! Riverwalk’s first blackbox show this season will open Thursday, October 9, and run through Sunday, October 19.
Director: Amanda Macomber

Synopsis: A thinking person’s Gothic thriller, a dark comedy that inverts the typical detective story format, placing Inspector Ruffing in a vulnerable position as he investigates a murder with five alluring and dangerous female suspects, who are clearly the ones in control.

Amanda Macomber makes her Riverwalk directorial debut with this season’s first straight play. When asked why she wanted to direct this show at Riverwalk, she said, “I was in this show (As Dolly) and then directed it a couple of years later. It’s such a fun show. Riverwalk hasn’t done a real who-done-it mystery in 14 years, so it seemed like the perfect show to do.” Macomber is most known for her impeccable costume design, but she has also scooped up a few Barney awards for acting at Riverwalk Theatre!

When asked what sets her show apart, Macomber proudly proclaims that she “got so spoiled with this cast, it’s seriously an embarrassment of riches! They are all so strong and have really made these characters their own.” Riverwalk newcomer, Savannah Jordan, takes on the titular role of Mrs. Ravenscroft is a real standout in this show. Amanda Macomber says that she “is absolutely hysterical, I can’t wait for everyone to see what she brings to the role!”

Last season Jeff Kennedy walked away with the Barney award for Lead Actor in a Musical for his work in the musical “First Date.” Kennedy is back to take on the leading role of this murder mystery. Macomber says that Kennedy’s character, Ruffing, is “really the glue of the show, and Jeff does that so effortlessly.” When asked how to describe this show, Kennedy had this to say “Murder mystery meets ghost story, meets rollicking comedy.”
