Murder Suspect in Custody for 2017 Case

 

 On Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at approximately 8 a.m. Lansing Police were dispatched to Police Headquarters at 120 W. Michigan to meet with a subject reference a Missing Person report. Officers were informed a co-worker had not shown up to work in a few days, which was not normal.
 
Officers responded to the missing person’s home address for follow up. Upon arrival Officers located a 27 year old Lansing man related to the missing man, who was uncooperative and required medical attention for self-inflicted injuries. The Lansing Fire Department transported the 27 year old to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Officers continued investigation of the missing person at the residence and located an unresponsive male. Lansing Fire paramedics made contact with the man and determined him to be deceased.
On May 26, 2017 the Ingham County Medical Examiner ruled the death a Homicide. The deceased man has been identified as Timothy Harold Southwell (66 years old), a Lansing resident who was the initial focus of the missing person investigation. A person of interest (27 year old male) was arrested on unrelated charges by the Lansing Police Department and is currently in custody as this case progress.
The Lansing Police investigation team working on this case asks for anyone with information to come forward. The smallest item can turn out to be a large part of the investigation.

UPDATE:  The following subject/person of interest was recently charged by the Ingham County Prosecutor for the murder of Timothy Southwell On May 24, 2017 in 700 block of Smith.
This subject was in jail on an unrelated crime. 
 
On January 16, 2017, Tylor Ray Wright, 28 years old and from Lansing MI, was arraigned in 54-A District court.
