On Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m. the Lansing Police Department was dispatched to the 2900 block of S. Washington in regard to a male subject stuck in the opening of a large metal donation bin located in a parking lot.
Responding officers located an unresponsive male subject stuck within the opening of the donation bin. The male’s upper body was stuck inside of the bin (opening area). Lansing Fire Department and Rescue responded and were able to free the man by cutting the metal container. The unresponsive male was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead. The name of the 53 year old, Lansing man, is not being released until next of kin is notified.
Preliminary findings in this case are that the death appears to be accidental and not suspicious in nature.
