News Spotlight: Body Found Floating in Grand River Identified

 On May 26, 2012 at 6:51 p.m. Lansing Police Department dispatched received information that a body was seen floating in the Grand River. The witness was kayaking and observed what he believed to be a body floating down river. Dive Sergeant Joe Brown responded to the scene and was directed by the witness to the area where the body was observed. The body was observed in debris at the northern most bridge piling. The LPD Dive Team recovered the body from the water. The LFD further assisted with the recovery efforts. The body believed to be a female was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for analysis.

 
Reference the above the female has been identified as Patty Borring, 52 year old Lansing resident. The family has been notified and the investigation remains “open.”
