LANSING, MI — On Thursday, October 13 at 6:30 pm we invite you to gather with us at The Michigan Women’s Historical Center and Hall of Fame, 213 West Malcolm X Street in Lansing for a Candlelight Vigil in remembrance and honor of victims and survivors of domestic violence.
The purpose of the candlelight vigil is to provide an opportunity for all members of the Greater Lansing community to come together to offer support to survivors of abuse and take a stand against domestic violence. This year we will also honor those who have come before us in the movement against domestic violence.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month, observed in October, is a time for communities to unite to remember those who have lost their live as a result of abuse, celebrate those who have survived, connect with those who work to end violence and raise public awareness about domestic violence in our communities.
The Candlelight Vigil is a collaboration between EVE (End Violent Encounters), C.A.R.E. (Capital Area Response Effort), MSU Safe Place, SIREN/Eaton Shelter, The Women’s Center of Greater Lansing, the Lansing Police Department, and the The Michigan Women’s Historical Center and Hall of Fame.
