News Spotlight: Convenience Store Robbery – 700 block N Pine St

On Sunday December 23, 2012 at 12:49 a.m. officers responded to a convenience store on the 700 block of Pine St on report of an armed robbery. The store employees reported that at 12:43 a.m. male entered the store wearing a plastic bag over his face, all black clothing, grey hat and gloves. The male indicated that he was carrying a handgun but no weapon was seen. The accused took money and cigarettes before fleeing N/B Pine from the scene on foot. Officers attempted a K-9 track but were unsuccessful.

There were no reported injuries and store surveillance was not available at the time of this writing.

Shooting 1100 block W. Maple

On Saturday December 22, @ 10:45 p.m. officers responded to the 1100 block of W. Maple on report of a shooting. Officers simultaneously contacted an 18 year old Lansing male at a local hospital who had sustained a non-life threatening gun shot to his leg. The male victim is listed in stable condition. Witnesses reported that the shooting stem from a fight that occurred minutes earlier at MLK and W. Maple. The accused shot the victim with a long gun and is described as a black male, bald head, thin build and in his 20s. The accused was last seen leaving the area in an unknown vehicle. There was no other reported injuries reference this matter.
