News Spotlight: Lansing Jaycees rummage sale offers treats and treasures to support Lansing Relay For Life

LANSING — The 2011 Lansing Relay For Life may have come and gone, but there is still time to support this important cause. That’s why the Lansing Jaycees’ Relay For Life team will host a rummage/bake sale on Saturday, Aug. 6, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

The event promises something for everyone, including furniture, electronics, baby supplies, books and other treasures. Baked goods, such as homemade chocolate chip cookies, cereal bars and cupcakes are sure to be a smash hit, said Lansing Jaycees Community Director Abby Siegel.

“This event is sure to be a great place to find a treasure or get your sugar fix,” Siegel said. “The best part is that all the money raised benefits Relay For Life, which is a great cause.”

The rummage/bake sale is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 6, in Fenner Nature Center’s basement, 2020 E. Mt. Hope Ave., in Lansing. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We couldn’t do the rummage/bake sale without Fenner Nature Center,” said Lansing Jaycees 83rd President Angela Fossi. “Thank you Fenner! I encourage anyone who plans on attending the sale to check out the nature center’s trails.”

According to Siegel, individuals interested in supporting Relay For Life but unable to attend the sale can donate sale items.
