News Spotlight: Lansing Man has been Identified as Victim of Homicide

 On November 21, 2016 at approximately 6:50 p.m. Lansing Police were dispatched to a shooting in the 3000 block of S. Washington (Lansing, MI).

 
Upon arrival Officers locate a 27 year old male (victim) with an apparent gun-shot wound. The victim was seated in a vehicle located in the parking lot of the business at this address. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later died. The victim of this homicide has been identified as;
Matthew Ryan Smoke of Lansing, MI.
 
Preliminary information determined by Officers and Detectives investigation into this homicide indicates the following;
The Victim patronized the business in the 3000 block of S. Washington. The Victim exits the business and entered a vehicle in the parking lot. The Victim was approached by an armed suspect. The victim and the suspect have a confrontation. The suspect shoots the victim and runs away on foot.
 
A Police K-9 attempted to track the suspect and was not unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9” in height, 260 lbs. in weight, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
