LANSING, MI. – With their scheduled season-opening series postponed due to field conditions, the Lansing Lugnuts will hold “Opening Day, Take 2” for Friday’s 7:05 p.m. affair vs. Dayton at Cooley Law School Stadium.
The game will feature all of the fun and festivity of Opening Day, but with the added benefit of special prices of $2 for draft beer and pop.
“We empathized with our fans’ disappointment over not opening our season last week,” said Lugnuts co-owner Tom Dickson. “With our first Thirsty Thursday of the season postponed, we’re honoring those original drink specials in our new home opener.”
Additionally, the Lansing Lugnuts will be celebrating Yooper Night on Friday. In tribute to their friends from the Upper Peninsula, the Nuts are guaranteeing that the temperature at first pitch will be below 60 degrees. If not, fans will be able to exchange their tickets for any future Lugnuts game in 2011, based on availability.
The contest with the Dragons opens up a three-game weekend series at Cooley Law School Stadium, with 2:05 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets to cheer on the Lugnuts are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office and by calling 517-485-4500.
